March '10: Bouncy Bouncy Bouncy

OK, so maybe you don't need to make anything bouncy for this month's sketch, but it's the design behind my hubby's birthday card and although my card is a 3D pop-up number, with elephants wobbling about on tiny springs, the LO works just as well for less bouncy cards too!

I hope you'll enjoy working with this sketch, it's free to use for any project - all I ask is that you give due credit and point people to where you found it.
Please come back and let me know where I can see what you make - if you do, I'll add your card/project to my links list so that other people can see it too

February '10: Say it with Flowers?

A new LO design will be posted on the first of each month..........
from now on, with the occasional bonus mid month sketch appearing from time to time!

I need to get more of a routine going with these sketches!  It might help me be more organised and also might encourage more people to use them - so please spread the word if you like the designs!
Gentle reminders near the end of a month would also be appreciated!

So, it's the 1st of February today and here's this month's (main) sketch.  I hope you like it and will find some time to have a play with it.
It may be called "Say it with Flowers?" but as the question mark indicates, you don't have to have flowers on your card - it's just that I get a bit bored if I only put circles or squares to indicate the focus bits.  Feel free to substitute whatever you fancy. :)

Here are a couple of cards I've made using this sketch.
The first is a "scrapling" - it's the piece remaining after cutting a 14cm square card from a sheet of A4
This next card was going to be just the sketch "shrunk" to make a sort of topper embellishment, but it all got a bit out of hand!

Ok, so now I'll be keeping my fingers crossed that lots of people like the sketch and will give it a try.  As usual, all I ask is that you let people know where you found the sketch and that you come back and let me know when you've used it so that I can see what you've made.

Happy crafting

January '10: Bend it, Shake it

Happy New Year!
I'm going to try to make 2010 a more consistent one for the Sketch File Blog - I will try to add a new sketch every month at the very least - if I'm really organised there might even be some bonus sketches too.  I hope you'll come by often and join in by linking your cards and other projects made using these sketches.  I'll continue to add your blogs to the links lists in the sidebar so that the inspiration is shared with all.

Right, to start off the year I've got this sketch which is also being used for the "Over to You" challenge on Bubbly Scrumptious.  Anyone who links their project made using this sketch  to HERE before Midnight, Wednesday Jan 20th 2010 (UK time) will be put in the draw for the prize Caroline is offering.
After that time the sketch will still be here, but you'll be too late to be in the proze draw, sorry!

Here's the sketch
This one is really easy to twist and turn to whatever LO you like best.   Here are the three cards I've made using it - you can find out more about these by visiting Bubbly Scrumptious

I'm all excited now and hoping that there'll be lots of messages about cards and other crafty projects I can come and see!
Happy Crafting
Have fun,

Sketch 2009 #17; Layer It Up

This sketch is derived from the card I made for Jo's "Krafty" challenge on this week's Daring Cardmakers. Although the card was made in a more "organic" fashion (posh word for "I stuck bits on as I went along".... ), after it was done I thought it would make quite a good plan for other cards.
So a bit topsy turvy - the sketch coming from the card rather than the other way round - I hope it'll still give some inspiration for making your own cards though.
Here's the card that inspired the sketch

As ever, I'd love to see whay you make using the sketch - I'll add your link to my links list if you come back and let me know.
Please just let people know where you found the sketch.

Sketch 2009 #16; Four Square - revisited!

I've finally got a card to share for Sketch #16.
Actually, I made one before, but I can't show that one yet.

I'll pop back and update as soon as I can

This one is a Christmas card, in case you didn't realise....
There's more info about the things I used to make it on my regular blog

Sketch 2009 #16; Four Square

I can't quite believe how much time has gone by since I last posted a sketch!
Well, I can only say that I'll try to do better...lol

Here's something new to play with, anyway.
I've not made a card yet for this one, but I'll try to get something done soon.

Meanwhile, I'd love to see what you come up with.

As ever, you're welcome to use this sketch for any of your projects, all I ask is that if you use any of the sketches you find here that you give credit and post a link to where you found them.
If you come back and leave a message, I'll pop along and see what you've made and add a link to your blog on here.

Sketch 2009 #15; Crisp & Simple

Life has been a bit hectic lately - at least that's my excuse for leaving it so long before adding a new sketch - but here is sketch 15 and I think it's one of those that can be as simple or as complicated as you want to make it.I hope you'll enjoy using this one and will come back and let me know where I can see it. If you use any of the sketches, please give credit for where you found it, otherwise they are free to use for whatever projects you like, there are no deadlines around here (just as well, eh?)

I made my card using the circle on the design as an aperture which I cut with a Nestabilities die. The little "Stork with Bundle" is made from shrink plastic. There's more info about the card on my regular blog.

Looking forward to seeing what you make
Have fun
